My beloved father, Bill Harbert passed away on December 5, 2025. He was 93 years young. He served on the USS Ajax (AR-6) during the Korean War.

We had a great time this year in Vegas. I have been to Hoover Dam 3 times now and this was the best! Our lunch at the Leatherneck Club was terrific. Having shipmates from the Piedmont and Dixie made it even better. See you all in 2026! Hopefully in Mobile, AL, which is 1 state we have not been to.

My father 97yrs old was on the USS Ajax for the atomic bomb test in WWII and still talks about his adventures. Atomic bomb test card! He was a seaman first class, Flag division. He has a USS Ajax tattoo 😉 and a few others. I would love to bring him to Vegas next in 2025

As one of the founding members of the USS Ajax Reunion Association, I regret to report that due to health reasons, Eileen and I will not be able to make the 2024 reunion. So, have a good reunion and turn out, and with a little help from the good Lord, we hope to see you in 2025.

From Houston, TX and served aboard Ajax from 1963 to 1965. Was an EM2 working in R-3 Division, motor repair shop. Took 2 weeks leave in '64 and attended the Tokyo Summer Olympics. Lived much of the time ashore in Sasebo. Regular hangout was "Stand bar Green". Best duty ever.

Jim Ernst, writing for my dad, John Beasley. He served in 1952 but lost his eye chipping paint off the AJAX while it was in dry dock and was medically discharged. We were at the reunion this year. Another Korean War veteran there this year, Bill ?, Spokane, WA attended with his daughter.

Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers on November 5, 2022 in rememberance of your fellow service member, Michael J. Gillen who passed away on Oct. 1. It was a wonderful surprise to see such beautiful flowers from the crew of the AJAx. He always wanted to make it to a reunion.

I was among the 1st 30 women to live aboard our USS AJAX, in 1980/81.I hope to join some of my ship mates at the reunion in 23. I was an E1 & struck for Quartermaster, with the privilege of maintaining the captains log on our cruises. I wouldn't change a minute for anything in the world.

Had a great time again even though that we can only stay for a couple days it always sucks leaving knowing that by the next time a group of be getting smaller. Theresa and I always have loved our Shipmates and enjoy seeing and talking to you all. Hope to see you next year.
